The Product

Our unit utilizes advanced pyrolysis technology to break down complex plastic polymers into usable hydrocarbon fuels. It's compact, efficient, and designed to be operated within residential complexes with minimal maintenance.

  • Fully self-sustaining energy cycle
  • Zero-waste management solution
  • High-grade mainstream fuel output
  • Safe for residential environments

Our Vision
For Impact

These are the goals we are building toward. At full scale, we hope each PURE unit in a residential complex could reduce the community's environmental footprint while providing a source of energy. The figures below are projections, not results.

Trial Runs

From proof-of-concept to successful prototypes, we've rigorously tested PURE in various environments to ensure reliability and safety.

Trial Test 1

Trial Test 1

Proof of concept test using an everyday use based pressure cooker. Successfully demonstrated the basic pyrolysis principle.

NCG Observation

While this test didn't produce pyro-oil, we observed significant production of Non-Condensable Gases (NCGs), a key milestone.

Trial Test 2

Trial Test 2

Using a $5 prototype built from a recycled metal canister, we successfully produced 20ml of high-grade pyro-oil.

Efficiency
Overview

Two kinds of numbers, kept apart: what we have measured in our own prototype trials, and what published studies report for existing pyrolysis units.

Still to be measured by us: yield percentage, energy balance and emissions.

These figures describe other groups' lab, pilot and modelled units. They show what is achievable, not what PURE has measured. Yields fall for mixed plastics, and commercial plants have reported ramp-up and yield difficulties.

About Us

Three Students. One Mission.

We are three students from a school in Haryana, studying the IB curriculum, and we are passionate about changing the world through engineering solutions for the climate and sustainability. PURE began as a question about the plastic waste our own communities produce, and grew into a prototype we built and tested ourselves.
